Washing Dishes-Leighann Foster

Again my subject matter comes from the Dollar Store, Family Dollar and Dollar General Stores. I bought sponges, a cup, and dish soap and set up a still life. I drew in the bubbles and sponges with graphite and then painted the white bubbles to make the sponges look like they were half emerged in the soapy water while letting the drawing show through the paint.

This painting is on gesso board with a smaller painting in the middle that is framed to set it apart and forward three eights of an inch to create a higher elevation than the soapy background. I have also altered the space with two points of view by looking down at the soapy water and looking front to back at the cup and sponges.
